Management – Discuss the duties and relationships between CIO, CTO, CKO and the CEO
Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for information technology within a company. Some CIO’s are also responsible for knowledge management as well. The CIO will report to the chief executive officer or chief financial officer.
Chief Technical Officer or Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for technical issues within company and is usually the company’s most senior technical person. The CTO reports to the CEO.

Web 2.0 and the Next Generation of Web Services

Web 2.0 can be defined loosely as the “New Web” but it is essentially a term that describes the point where we are at now and where we are headed with Internet application development. Current Internet platform enhancements, data management capabilities, and social networking innovations have brought us to a point that perhaps required the need for an expression like “Web 2.0.” Perhaps Web 2.0 has emerged to provide some segmentation to recent developments that have had a tremendous impact on what can be done using the Internet. There are numerous terms and acronyms that one would have to be familiar with to understand why we have transitioned into the Web 2.0 environment. These terms for the most part, would have been unknown just 5 years ago and include: ASP, XML, RSS, Wiki, Web Blog, SOAP, Web Services, Web Platforms, Social Software and Networks, AJAX, Folksonomy, Podcast, SaaS, Mash-Up, Long Tail and Web API.
